since no one has posted a path here yet i'll give it a try, just want o point out i'm a noob and i didnt use the note chart or any math to plot this path what i did was watch chadcasket's vid of la grange on expert took that path and tried adopting the activations on medium.
2- 1st RG
3- 5th B
2- G
3- NN
i'm sure the uber pro's at this is gonna come running telling me it's wrong I kinda expect it to be i havent put that much time into this.
it did give me a 158498 run though that aint to far off the top and concidering I suck at gh it cant be far off the exact path i'm guessing. |

That is a good path Genne, but I think you will find that 3-2-2-3 is slightly better. I hope you don't take it as an attack, but merely a suggestion (and hopefully it will net you ~2k more points! ).
I don't even know which path I used when I ran through this song, but here's what appears to be the optimal path on paper:
3 - NN (no squeeze)
2 - 10th Blue*
2 - Green (no squeeze)
3 - NN (squeeze yellow + ticks)
* (Those who whammy better than me [everyone] should be able to squeeze the red in Measure 77)
If I added correctly, this path should net ~161194/161394.....which is pretty damn close to optimal.
Now to try it when I get home

I don't have my activations on hand but those are the numbers for what I used to get my 161,146. Shouldn't be hard to get a few more ticks but that last squeeze is ass. |

If you get all the whammy, it comes out to 7.91 beats.
7.91-7.75=.16
That red note in 77 is about .60 beats away. No one will get it. It's hard enough to squeeze .25 beats |
Couple of things Ice:
1/ Now I don't feel so bad for missing it all the time
2/ How do you figure 7.91? Where did you get that number? Looking at the chart above, it looks like there's easily more than 8 beats of whammy there. Were you going by debr's chart? (I'm too lazy to open up a new window).
There goes InsolentWill....being all confused again!

That's definitely the right path. 161,x18 will be the optimal tickage. The only possible upperbound squeeze is that red note. _________________

Actually I just got 161,222
And to Will, yes I use debr's charts. And since it's been proven that we lose .25 beats of whammy on every hold and whammying early does absolutly nothing, there's no way it can be hit.
*waits for someone to prove him wrong*
EDIT: I'm a total fucking idiotic, retarded, dumbass, fucktard . For the sake of backing up my theory, I decided to record to show how I didn't think it was possible. On my first run, I HIT the damn note, but threw an extra strum in after the first note of the next SP phrase. I played for an hour straight with no luck on repeating the process. On the bright side, before I recorded I got 161,234 (hella more ticks than debr's chart predicted) So good luck to all squeezers trying for that piece of shit red note. _________________

A Tick is 1 point. Once you get a multiplier it is 4 points. So if you hit the note early you get a tick burst which is pretty much a lot of ticks at once and the farther you make it into the hold the more ticks you get. That is why most of the people on the leaderboards are separated by multiples of 4. They are pretty much small points needed for a 1st place score. _________________
