|
|
Hey guys, I have been playing guitar hero since it first came out and recently I got back into the game and I'm trying to finally 100% every song. I'm improving quickly but I'm realizing that on single quick strumming parts, I always hit every note, but I seem to be over-strumming? As shown in the video below I literally get 100% of the notes hit, but I don't keep my combo for more than a few seconds. I used "All Nightmare Long" as an example but this happens on any song like it. Any advice on how to help me improve would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like you're strumming a bit too fast. Granted ANL is a pain no matter what. Slowing down a bit and accenting the note changes from say the Orange to the Yellow has always helped me. I can't recall off the top of my head if ANL has beat changes in the verses (I believe it does) but that also can be a quite annoying thing to be able to "adapt" to.
Hope my rather bad explanation can help somewhat. |

You are definitely strumming way too fast. You need to find the right speed when alt-strumming.
In you have trouble with alt-strumming in general, don't practice on ANL right now, the speed is inconsistent, it's terrible. Practice on other songs, start with relatively slow ones (like Hier Kommt Alex) and find the right speed, then get to faster songs (One strummings, before the fast solo), your way up to stuff like Knights of Cydonia or The Way it Ends.
If you specifically want to get full combo on ANL, I would suggest you use your own video to find out where the strumming speeds up or slows down, and then same thing: start on a slow speed and get full combo of the section, and practice your way up! _________________

I agree with what Naruto said. Practice slower alt strumming songs first like Hier Kommt Alex. _________________
